MDP | Gives Back

Double the Impact.

Fuel The Art and Empower the Community.

As part of our Anniversary, Calendar Year-End (CYE), and Fiscal Year-End (FYE) campaigns, McKoy Dance Project is proud to support our community through our Gives Back program—a philanthropic initiative that extends the impact of every dollar we raise. Beginning in FY26, MDP will donate 10-15% of campaign funds to nonprofit organizations selected by members of the MDP community—whether a dancer, staff member, or collaborator.

Each campaign will highlight a different MDP member and their chosen cause—a group serving a marginalized population or responding to urgent community needs. This way, every gift to MDP doesn’t just fuel our boundary-breaking dance work—it also supports the broader ecosystem of justice, equity, and care.

Double your impact with every gift.

What We Do

MDP | Gives Back is McKoy Dance Project’s community impact through philanthropy initiative. Through this program, a flexible percentage (10–15%) of funds raised during our Anniversary, Calendar Year-End, and Fiscal Year-End campaigns is donated to nonprofits selected by our team members. This allows every MDP donor to not only support groundbreaking dance but also contribute to powerful social causes—amplifying impact beyond the stage.

Organization Spotlight

October 2025 Spotlight

Nominated by Destinee Bouldin, MDP Company Dancer

Let’s celebrate! Support MDP’s Anniversary Campaign and amplify another impactful community organization at the same time.

Hands & Voices is a parent-led organization that provides families of Deaf or Hard of Hearing children with non-biased valuable information, provide an emotional support system, and provide an overall strong bonded community.

“I picked to support Hands & Voices because they do not discriminate against the choice of communication you wish to use in your household with your children, they are here to be used as an anchor for anything to new parents of Deaf or Hard of Hearing children. They are important to me because as an ASL Signer and developing teacher who has learned about the emotional toll on parents navigating raising a Deaf or Hard of Hearing child, I advocate for providing the upmost support of children as they grow up in our world.”

The Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) was founded in Seattle, Washington, by Dorothy Laigo Cordova in 1982. Its mission is to promote understanding, education, enlightenment, appreciation and enrichment through the identification, gathering, preservation and dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans in the United States.

“In a time and space of uncertainty I look to the strength, perseverance, and unwavering determination of my ancestors. By understanding my people and our collective struggle, are we able to find justice and liberation?”

– Carl Ponce Cubero

“He who does not know how to look back at where he came from will never get to his destination.”

June 2026 Spotlight

Nominated by Shaina McGregor, MDP Company Dancer

Finish the season off just right. From lights to licensing—every gift sustains the bold, boundary-breaking work you see on stage and in the opportunities we present artists annually. Your support means everything to us!

The Mama Glow Foundation is a Brooklyn-based nonprofit committed to advancing reproductive justice and birth equity for Black and marginalized communities. Through education, advocacy, and doula support, Mama Glow works to ensure safe, dignified, and empowering birth experiences—particularly for those most impacted by systemic disparities in maternal health. Their work uplifts birthing people, trains community-based doulas, and pushes for lasting policy change.

“Black mothers and birthing people are 3-4x more likely to die due to childbirth and childbirth-related causes than their white counterparts. It’s important for me to align with organizations that demand institutional change and empower Black women with the support and resources they need to have a beautiful birthing experience.”
