Do the flowers still bloom when Winters comes? (2023)
$25 for access as an MDP | On Demand Member
Do the flowers still bloom when winter comes? is a captivating marriage of dance performance and theater. Dramatic and intimate narration drives the story of two beings navigating the relationship with self and the relationship between each other. Do the flowers still bloom when winter comes? illuminates the idea that falling in love with someone’s flowers, but not their roots leaves you barren when Fall and Winter come. This ballet examines the projections we attach onto others in our search for love (love in ourselves and love for others). We leave little room for the people closest to us to be who they truly are. Music by Ricky Nelson, Hiatus Kaiyote, AIR, Lorenzo Bianchi Hoesch and George Bokaris create a dramatic score, fitting the ballet’s vulnerability.

Babou Sanneh & Rachel Yoo
